Cole erroneously got a job at DDL thinking he was applying for an IT position. He is meek and timid and extremely ill suited to be a DDL agent, but he was also unlikely to have anyone look for him if he were to go missing which made him a good candidate. Cole absolutely despises working here, but he's as much a prisoner as any of the inmates. He's lucky to have Bonnie and his dog, Pig, to keep him grounded and make working in this hell hole at least slightly bearable. All Cole can really think about is escaping DDL one day and getting his life back.

Cole would like to have more friends but find that he is either intimidated by others or easily annoyed by others so he tends to keep to himself and watch others from a distance. While he isn't outwardly mean under most circumstances he is a very jaded and bitter person and is prone to wallowing in self pity. At his core, Cole is a coward and will always choose to save his own skin without considering those around him.
